The apportionment apportion-ment for the county is $70,900, and this leaves a balance of $;i7,22 that ' must be sold on or before January 1, I 1019, if we want to keep our record i clear in everything that has been ' asked of us to help win the war. Pledges for this amount, and more, have been given and it is now up to those who have made the pledges to ' make good, and not go back on Uncle Sam, nnd the boys "over there" who i have put up such a glorious fiVht and have helpetl to win the victory. They I are doing their duty, and are fulfilling their promises, and it would be n tlis mace for Iron county to have the word go forth that it has not done its share in providing the means for the boys--especially in buying V. S. S. which cost so little, and in nn amount that every man, woman and child in the country can help. The proportion is but ?2() mora f vou can or as much as you 'an. In 1923 you will get the monev back, with interest besides. It is simply loaning a very few dollars till ITnchj Sam can gat it back to vou. The Record does not want it said that Iron county has fallen behind in any one thing that has been Mind -f it during the war, least of all in buying buy-ing W. S. S. to the full allotment, aiui then some. It is not the kind of news we care to print. So make it possible by keening your W.S.S. pledge for us to print the news that the amou.M asked for has been paid, all pledges redeemed, and there is nothing to be ashamed of. u' a a |
