Show LAST SAD RITES FOR MARJ0R1E STEVENS Young Lady Missionary, Victim of Influenza at Denver, is l.sid Tenderly at Rest. Funeral services for Miss Marjorie Stevens, the young lady missionary from the Enoch ward who died in Col- orado of influenza, were held at the local cemetery Sunday afternoon. The meeting was conducted by Bishop Chas E. Jones of Enoch, and musical numbers were furnished by the Enoch I ward choir. Pres. Herrick of the Western States mission, who accompanied accom-panied the body of the young lady I home, was the first speaker. He gave I a clear and concise account of her sickness and death, which resulted i from a complicated case of influenza. i Stating that Miss Stevens was labor-I labor-I ing at the Pueblo conference prior to her transfer to Denver, where she contracted con-tracted the cold which resulted in her death. The best possible care was taken of her but death seemed inevitable in-evitable as in so many cases similar to this one. The speaker closed with words of encouragement to the family fam-ily and was glad to have had a missionary mis-sionary in the field with so much en-I en-I thusiasm for the work as had been I shown by Miss Stevens. The other speakers, President Day : and Rishop Jones, both spoke encouragingly en-couragingly to the bereaved family. Pres. The young lady left for her mission j a little over two years ago, having voluntered to go from the ward, ami after getting released asked to be allowed al-lowed to stay longer, which privilege waa granted to her. Marjorie's mother died some five years ago, but she leaves a father and a number of brothers and sisters to i I mourn her loss. L ! |
