Show JOSEPH S. SMITH ANSWERS CALL Funeral Services Held Yesterday Afternoon Af-ternoon in Tabernacle Was a Familiar Figure Here. Yesterday afternoon at 2 p. m. tho funeral services over tho remains of Joseph S. Smith, one of Cedar City's solid, stable citizens, were held in the local tabernacle. Deceased departed this life on tho 22nd inst. of diabetes. While his condition con-dition had not been robust no one had Buspected that the end was so near. He was in attendance at the old folks' party on Thanksgiving day nnd was at that time apparently in his normal state of health. For a number of years Mr. Smith has lived a widower, his worthy wife meeting death in a deplorablo accident acci-dent on the mountain road, when n defective brake caused the team Mr. Smith was driving to run away nnd capsize tho wagon. There were threo ladies on the load of lumber coming from their mountain dairies, all of whom were" quite seriously injured, and Mrs. Smith killed. A number of sons and daughters, all of whom aro now practically mature, ma-ture, survive them. A biographical sketch of the deceased's de-ceased's life will be published next issue. |
