Show A Condition to be Regretted. In commenting on the enthusiasm manifested on the occcasion recently of the visit of Dr. Widt-soe Widt-soe of the Agricultural College and his party to Kanab, and the fact that the party was to visi t Panguitch, the Progress has this to sav concerning concern-ing the reception to be give them: "Dr. Widt-soe Widt-soe was in Panguitch Friday, "on hand," ready to meet the people half way and anixous to put our experiment farm in a shape to be of great benefit to the people. Dr. Widtsoe is one of the greatest men in the state of Utah, in fact of the entire west. How was he met? One humble citizen did invite him home to music, ice cream and social courtesies. Pes. Houston had a few pleasant words for him. That was all. No commercial club, no business men's reception, "no nuthin." He is expected back in Panguitch Friday night of this "week. What shall we do if he comes? Call a meeting in the tabernacle and after waiting a long time for an audience give a talk to a small crowd of mostly sleepy women?" This attitude on the part of the people of Panguitch is to be regretted, for it is an undisputed undis-puted fact that the agricultural development of this section of the state is the most important condideration for the present, and the future for many years to cflffliS, ffiflflffEJgJgJg'gLwpli is the means of bringing about JtcSTdcvelopment. The more it is supported, both in the actual school work and in the extension work, the sooner and greater will ne the good results. . i i ) |
