The cave has for many years been written about as ono of the most unusual bits of natural scenery but its principal claim to prominence has been the fact that in it have been produced some of the finest mushrooms ever placed on the market. The cave has been used as a store house and in its spacious halls there have been each winter hundreds of dollars worth of fine fruit and vegetables. The cave is one of the longest long-est in this part of the state, extending for a mile back into the hillside. From its moi th there flows a splendid stream of water which is of sufficient depth to transport boats far into the cavern. The place will be widely advertised ad-vertised and is expected to attract at-tract hundreds of summer visitors visit-ors from all parts of the country. Mr. Peterson was so well pleased with the appearance of the cave and the surroundings that he closed the deal for the purchase of the property within half an hour after having first seeri it. |
