Show KANARRA VILLE Kanarra. Utah, Dec. 25, 191f. Kanarra was made aware of the fact that we nre not dead socially when the Junior High School gave their Christmas Christ-mas party on tha 19th inst. Some of the exhibitions of locnl talent along, the line of entertaining were pronounced pro-nounced equal to any parts rendered by any students elsewhere. The declamations, decla-mations, recitations and especially the musical numbers furnished by the school orchestra, were all greeted at the close of the exercises by an ovation ova-tion of thanks from the townspeople, and nine rahs were given for the school. e e We wish to nnnounee to our larger neighboring communities that we are looking for them to set nnother pace for us to follow. We have our homes, church and amusement halls all lighted with electricity; we have a splendid water system, three telephone systems sys-tems and all the other organizations but cooperation. We will have that soon. Why not a railroad, electric or steam Farm Bureau Organized. We were visited recently by County Agent Alma Plsplin and his aids; also Engineer R. S. Garlner. They were greeted warmly and we organized n-gainst n-gainst the rabbits and grasshoppers for next senson; also other matters of community interest were discussed. The Farm Bureau is a worthy organization organ-ization and we cannot organize too strongly nor give it too much encouragement. encour-agement. It has worked wonders for the farmers of other sections of the United States mil will do the same for us if it receives the co-operation of the farmers here. Throughout several Eastern States farmers are organizing organiz-ing themselves in such a way that they buy their necessities nt wholesale rates and hold their products for the highest high-est prices, and get them. We refer you to the cotton industry in the South, the corn industry in the Middle Mid-dle States, the Wheat in the Northern States which nre so organized that not even Federal dictation affect their distribution. Let's encourage the Iron County farmers to co-operate and protect themselves from the dictation of profiteers. prof-iteers. e e Our school teachers have itone home for the holidays, but we are in hopes of having tl . iame corps of instructors instruc-tors after the holidays. The Perry Orchestra from Cedar City have been engaged to play for a few dances for us. We are as glad to welcome that worthy social element as anyone in Cedar. We invite them and others to come often. Town Incorporation Urged. |
