Show MERCANTILE STORE I HAS je POLICY Announces Plan for Sharing Excess Profits With Employees on Fifty-Fifty Basis. DINNER AND CHRISTMAS PRESENTS LAST TUESDAY Adoption of Profit-Sharing Ar-' rangemcnt Expected to Insure Cooperation and Constancy of Labor, and Promotes Efficiency, i Last Tuesday evening the Cedar Mercantile & Live Stock Co. gave a i luncheon and evening party at the store to all officers, board members, employees of the company and their partners. The luncheon was prepared by the Arcadian Cafe and consisted of sandwitches. cocoa, pastries and salad. A lively program was conducted, during which each employee was handed hand-ed an envelope containing a Christmas Christ-mas present in the form of a check for $10.00. It waa also the occasion for announcing to employees a new and important departure in the conduct con-duct of the business, which will hereafter here-after include a profit-sharing provision provis-ion which will enable the employees of the company to participate in any excess ex-cess or surplus earnings and will, it is believed not only insure permanency and satisfaction on the part of employees em-ployees but by reason of their greater interest will increase the earnings of the company.
