Show -LOCAL LAND OFFICE The decisien of the local land office in the case of the United States vs. F. A. Hyde and others has been reversed by a decision I if "the general land office at Washington. The land consists of 40, acres in Iron county and was taken originally as lieu lands for certain lands in California, under ran act' of Congress, by Myron D. Higbee. The government's govern-ment's action to cancel the land -in Iron county wa 4 brought upon the ground that the base land in California was obtained frdm that state by corrupt and fraudulent fraud-ulent proceedings. The charge was that while J. B. Clark apparently ap-parently secured the land for himself; it was in reality for F. A. Hyde. The local land office dismissed the contest on the grounds that the entry of the Iron county land was legal, there being no fraud iu the manner of, obtaining the California land, according to the officials here. The general office maintains that there was fraud in. the manner of obtaining the land from California Cali-fornia and orders the cancellation cancella-tion of the Iron county entry accordingly. ac-cordingly. The local office may now take an appeal to the secretary sec-retary of the interior in this matter, DeSeret News. , |
