Show CHURCH TO ERECT ' FINE BUILDING ty nwr!tCliurch -IJuilding, to contain the ,bfllcej sof the Frist Presidency, the historian's office and library, the Genealogical society and other Church offices, is to be constructed just west of the Lion house, according to a decision of the member of the First Presidency and the presiding presid-ing bishopric at a meeting yesterday.. yes-terday.. The new building, which is planned to be one of the most beautiful office buildings in Salt Lake city, is to be known as the General Church offices. Work will begin oiu&jvithin a few -weeks,, and the foundation and the first story expected to be completed this year. t Plans forthe building are now being made by Young, & Son, architects, and within a few days, it is expected, they will be ready to be submitted to the First Presidency. One, drawing, calling for a magnificent structure struc-ture 200 feet long was declined because the; building would be both too large and too expensive. The new structure is to stand on the beautiful site between the Lion House and the Deseret gymnasium, now covered with lawn and ornamental shacle trees. The site, generally considered con-sidered one of the choisest in Salt Lake. City, is sufficiently large to give the building an excellent ex-cellent surrounding of pavement or lawn, on all sides, and will, it is expected, when the building is XjOmpleted, combine with the structure to form one. of the monumental spots of Salt Lake. The edifice is to stand SO feet back from South Temple' street and 30 feet west of the Lion House, giving a large space in front for flower gardens or courts, or whatever may be decided de-cided upon by the Church authorities. author-ities.
