Show From the Public Library. One of the most invaluable contributions con-tributions to the Carnegie liabrary was made this week by Mrs. Prt-cilla Prt-cilla Uric of Hamilton. A manuscript manu-script of twenty-seven pages entitled, en-titled, "Early History of Cedar City and Vicinity," by John Uric, Sr. The writcup begins with the exploring party of 1849 under the leadership of Parley P. Pratt, briefly sketching thru the years until un-til 1880. The development and decline de-cline of the iron manufacture is especially interesting, indeed, the little history is priceless and will be guarded as closely as precious gems might be. Wc arc indebted to Mary M. Uric for making this copy from her father's journal. Would that others of our pioneer and early day citizens would do likewise that wc might gather enough historical information to justify compiling it in book form, |
