Every Indication Is that the 'Job was performed per-formed by amateurs, according to Sheriff Sher-iff White, who believes that three persons per-sons were Involved In the attempted robbery. Tho robbers made their escape and up to n late hour no truce had been found of them. The exact amount of the loss could not bo determined immediately, as Sheriff George E. Mabey refused to allow al-low bank officials to make nn examination examina-tion until fingerprint photographs had been tnken. However, general observation obser-vation by offlclnls resulted In an estimate esti-mate that the loss would reach many thousands of dollars. Giant powder In sufficient quantity to wreck almost completely the bank Interior and vault, money safe and deposit de-posit boxes was used by the robbers. According to Sheriff Mabey, three suspicious characters were seen around Downey Thursday. The men were In possession of nn automobile and nro believed to have made their escape In It following the bank robbery. So completely was the sound of the explosion muffled that the robbery was not discovered until this morning. The robbery, nccordlng to officers, gives evidence of being the work of experts. Charles Woods, manager of the Salt Iukc branch of the Hums Detective ngency, was notified of the robbery early Friday and started nt once for the scene.
