Premier Comoes today communicated to the council of ministers the text of a bill forbidding all teaching by the religious orders, even those now actually authorized, which will be presented pre-sented in the chamber of deputies Friday next. The purpose of the measure is to abrogate the existing legislation permitting permit-ting teaching by the authorized religious orders. The bill provides for the dissolution, dissolu-tion, accompanied by the sequestration of property, of such congregations as exist solelv for the purpose of teaching, and for the partial sequestration of the property prop-erty of those congregations which, in addition ad-dition to teaching, also conduct hospitals for the indigent. Five years are allowed for the complete carrying out of the proposed law, the adoption of which will entail the closing oi 1,22!) schools for boys. 2.195 school build-incs build-incs where girls are, taught and all the schools conducted by the Christian brothers.
