Show PUEBLO, COL. Mr. and Mrs. T. G. McCarthy returned re-turned Wednesday last from a two weeks' vacation spent in New Mexico. They were accompanied by their two youngest children and enjoyed their trip very much. i , St. Ignatius .church was the scene of a pretty church wedding Wednesday Wednes-day morning at 9 o'clock when Miss Clara Henkel of this city and J. Ernest Er-nest Abell of Lebanon, Ky were united in marriage by Rev. Father Ley. The young people were attended by Henry Henkel and Miss Ifelen Henkel. Miss Agnes Langdon and Miss Minneola Pryor presided at the organ and played the wedding march. The bride was attired in a blue Parisian Paris-ian gown, with white beaver hat trinfned with ostrich plumes and cream lace. ' She carried a large sheaf of bride's roses. After the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Henkel. Mr. and Mrs. Abell are now visiting in the east. Their home will be in Lebanon, Ky. Mike Roach is again employed as a heater in the bar mill at the Min-nequa Min-nequa steel works. Fletcher Hill has been selected as the site for the college and monastery to be built by the Benedictine society, and Monday the transfer of block 131. Fletcher hill, was made to the society by Aaron and Moses Sonne-born. Sonne-born. The property is bounded by Mesa and Monument , avenues and Sixth and Seventh streets. It is a very desirable location and the Messrs. Spnneborn , were paid $11,600 for the land. Father Gregory said ' not long ago that plans are being drawn for the buildings, but that the society will be constrained to adapt itself to the j means available and commence in a small way, increasing their '.'acilities as it is possible, jtr after year, until the institution will reach the. proportions propor-tions now designed by the founders. Father Gregory could not say just when work will be commenced, but stated that It will be soon. For the present a building 100x50 feet will be erected and a sufficient number of instructors in-structors i will" be maintained at the monastery to conduct the institution. It !s expected that the college will be welf patronized and that it will expand ex-pand rapidly. -The course of study will be such as. is pursued in similar institutions and the best instructors will be in charge. The plans which are being drawn will call for an expenditure of $150,000. j |
