Mrs. Hoyt Sherman and the Misses Sherman have returned from a delight-, ful trip to eastern cities. A. T. Kerr has gone east for a short time on mining business. His wife accompanied ac-companied him to visit her relatives. Mrs. Bauer and Miss Ethel Bauer leave the last of the week for California. Califor-nia. S Mrs. Theodore Meyers and Miss Gertrude Ger-trude Meyers will return home early next week. Mrs. W. A. Mears, who has been the guest of Mrs. Solomon Siegel for the past week, left Saturday morning for her home in Portland. Mrs. Frank S. Murphy and children j of Oregon are visiting relatives and friends in the city. Miss Josephine Morris, who recently returned from New York, is putting out cards for a recital to be given In the new Barratt hall early in February. $ Mr. and Mrs. Taggart left Monday for the coast. They will go by way of Mexico and the Grand canyon of the Colorado. Willard Weihe will play Max Bruch's violin concerto in G minor at the Symphony Sym-phony orchestra concert on Feb. 4. The movements will be played with full orchestral accompaniment. Mrs. L. E. Pitts and Mrs. Joseph Brandle were down from the Park and spent a very enjoyable week visiting friends. Mrs. N. C.Milligan left last week for California. She expects to be gone about three weeks. Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Armstrong left Monday for California. Mr. and Mrs. David Keith, who have visited in New York, left last week for Florida. Mrs. Sol Siegel received informally Monday afternoon of last week, and with her was her guest, Mrs. W. A. Mears of Portland, Ore. A great number num-ber of friends called during the afternoon after-noon and spent a few hours most delightfully. de-lightfully. Mrs. Mears remains in the city till the end of the week. - Pat Ryan returned Monday from a trip to Old Mexico, where he has some mining interests. G. W. Murphy has returned from an extensive trip to the northwest. J. B. Cosgriff, who has been, with his family, in Oakland, CaJ., returned home this week. Mike Cantlon. a prominent citizen of Butte, is spending a few days in the city, receiving a cordial welcome from hosts of old-time friends. Mr. Cantlon Cant-lon was for many years sergeant of the police force of this city. Many delightful affairs were given in honor of Dr. and Mrs. w. A. Mosier, who were married in this city last Sunday. On Wednesday of last week, Mrs. E. M. Shea, sister of Mrs. Mosier, entertained enter-tained at a delightful afternoon party. The time was spent in playing games, and delicious refreshments were served. On Friday afternoon of last week Mrs. D. H. Bero entertained at a most pleasant afternoon party in- Mrs. Hosier's Ho-sier's honor. ; Dr. and Mrs. Mosier were the guests of honor at a very enjoyable dinner party given by Mrs. Alma Robinson on Tuesday evening. Mrs. A. Fred Wey was the hostess host-ess of a delightful crokinole party on last Monday evening, given in honor of Dr. and Mrs. Mosier. A very pleasant surprise party was given for Dr. and Mrs. Mosier on Sunday Sun-day evening at the pretty home of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Shea, at 1671 South" Main street. Songs, games and recitations reci-tations were the order of the evening, delicious refreshments were served and all present spent a most enjoyable evening. ' Mrs. M. H. Kervin, with her daughter daugh-ter May. returned from a short visit to San Francisco this week. ; Emma Stringham, the 11-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Srting-ham Srting-ham of this city, who was baptized by Father Morrissey at the Holy Cross ! hospital a week ago, has now fallen into the comatose stage of her malady spinal meningities. She peacefully slumbers away, calmly awaiting the call of Him who said: "Suffer little children to come unto me, for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven' r"Father Curran received Mrs. W. j Murphy of St. Patrick's parish into the Church last week. Mrs. Murphy is a convert from Episcopalianism. John Forbes is lying hopelessly ill at his residence. 474 West Second South street. The end is expected at any hour. Madame Barry, the popular modiste of the Walker Bros.' store, has moved from Ford's to the Cullen hotel. Mrs. L. D.
