Show The League in Kilkenny. Mr. Pat O'Brien, M. P., assisted by Messrs. T. Harrington, member of the national directory, North Kilkenny, Michael Meagher, president of the North Kilkenny executive, and E. T. Keane ("Kilkenny People"), member of the national directory. Kilkenny City, addressed a series of meetings in North Kilkenny on Jan. 4. At a meeting at Crosspatrick Rev. Father Lowry presided. pre-sided. He dwelt forcibly on the necessity neces-sity for organization, and said he was proud to confess that nowhere in Ireland Ire-land was there a more patriotic spirit shown than in that district of Crosspatrick. Cross-patrick. He appealed to every man in the parish to join the United Irish league. Mr. O'Brien, M. P., on behalf of the Parliamentary party, thanked their esteemed es-teemed and patriotic chairman for his kindly references to the party and their leader, and he assured them that it was the earnest desire of the party to promote the welfare of the country and to win for the people those great reforms which were touched on in the resolutions passed by the meeting. Meetings were subsequently held in Urlingford. Grane and Johnstown, which were addressed by Messrs. P. O'Brien. M. P.; T. Harrington, Mr. Meagher and E. T. Keane. |
