Show BILLINGS, MONT. T. E. Burke, who has been the city ticket agent for both roads for the past two or thre years, has resigned his position and will leave in a few-days few-days for St. Paul, where he has secured se-cured a more lucrative position in a private business. His family will remain re-main here until he gets permanently settled. MrT Burke will be succeeded by J. H. Ray; who is at present acting chief clerk' at the Northern'' Pacific freight depot. Fostmaster L. F. Babcock- has just received word from the postofhee department de-partment that his requisition for a stamp cancelling machine has ." been favorably acted upon by the head officers of-ficers and a machine ordered from the manufacturing company. It will take a few weeks for the machine to reach Billings, when it will be accompanied by an expert, .who will set it up and get it in running order. The fact that this office has been granted one of the machines speaks well for the standing of Billings with the department, as other cities in the state somewhat larger than Billings which have made requisitions for the machines are still without them. |
