At the recent meeting of the Elks of Rock Springs as a "lodge of sorrow." sor-row." the 'principal address was deliv-' deliv-' ered by Father Delahun ty. I says: j After a touching rendition of "Hearts i and Flowers" by Thayer's orchestra. the opening ceremonies were received with deep and respectful attention. I Their most impressive feature was the j Icall "Walter H. Revell." in solemn tone, by Secretary LeRoy Berry the j name of the one departed brother since the organization of Rock Springs lodge J about a year ago. j At the close of the opening ode. which was sung by the choir. T. S. ! Taliaferro invoked the Grand Ruler of i the Universe. Father Delahunty followed with an appropriate address, dwelling mainly on the principles of the order, the lib- era' spirit vhjch actuates the organization organ-ization and the manhood in its members mem-bers whose hearts beat in sympathy with humanity. He referred to th-cardinal th-cardinal points of the order, charity, justice, brotherly love and tldfllty. showing how great each was a factor y in bringing human life to its highest ; perfection. "True charity without os- I tentation accomplishes the most." said llhe reverend father, and he encouraged ! the members of the order in their noble resolution --to do unto others as others should do unto you." He emphasized most forcibly the many acts of kindness kind-ness and charity performed by the order or-der and pointed out the influence which have led to its popularity. At the close Father Delahunty gave the "Benediction." |
