Show For Irish Schools. Members of the hierarchy in Ireland at their recent meeting in Maynooth college among other very important pronouncements made the following: "We deem it our duty to express our earnest hope that Catholic electors will not support any candidate who will . not pledge himself to advocate the establishment es-tablishment of a university which the Catholics of Ireland can attend without with-out sacrifice of their religious convictions. convic-tions. We strongly recommend that in the primary schools the instruction should be bilingual, English being, taught through the medium of Irish. The creation of a peasant proprietary and the subdivision of the uncultivated lands are the most efficient means of aiding and improving agriculture in Ireland." -r |
