Father Hopper Hop-per the eloquent Paulist Missionary, who gave so many missions throughout through-out Montana the past year, in company com-pany with Father MacCorry, is now giving a mission this week at Boulder. He arrived direct from San Francisco Saturday last. Miss Mcformick. who has been ill at j St. John's hospital is improving. j Father Rebman of Spokane- w ill not conduct the retreat for the Priests as I previously announced. Father Cataldo j S. J., will conduct it. ! Rev. Father De La Motte, rector of the college at Spokane, has been appointed ap-pointed Superior General for the Rocky Mountain Division of the Jesuit Order, in place of Rev. Father Van Gorpe. Father f'oopman of St Peter's and Father Malo. chaplain of St. Ann's hospital. Anaconda, were visitors at the Episcopal residence last week. The Bishop's consultors, Rev. Father Pe Siere of Rutte and Rev. Father Allays, Great Falls, held a consultation consulta-tion with his Lordship this week. Wednesday morning, at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Miss Carey of Boulder, Boul-der, who is also county superintendent of schools of Jefferson county, will be united in marriage to Mr. Eugene Pl-cot, Pl-cot, a well know n young business man of Boulder. Miss Carey has many warm friends throughout 'the state, who w ish her a long and happy married mar-ried life. She has been county super intendent for three terms. The groom i. also well known in business and social so-cial circles and the hearty congratulations congratu-lations of numerous friends go out to the young couple. j Father Stack preached his initial i sermon Sunday evening at the Cathe- dral and took for his subject. "The Holy Name of Jesus." The young Father Fa-ther impressed his hearers very favorably favor-ably and delivered his sermon in a , cdear, emphatic manner, dwelling on the reverence and sacredness of the holy name. J The children of St. Joseph's Orphanage Orphan-age completed a Xovena in honor of the Mother of God on thhe Feast of the Assumption and all received Holy Communion. Misses Edith Harech ami Mamie Young spent several diys in Marys-ville, Marys-ville, the guests of Miss Dillon. - Mr. and Mrs. Devine of Marysville were in .attendance at the Grand Lodge of the A. O. U. W. Helena. the past week was eiven over to the members of the Grand Ladse of the A. O. V. W. Delegates fiom all over the state were present. A number of receptions and entertainments enter-tainments were given in honor of the visiting delegates. Secretary of State Thomas S. Hogan is back from a brief visi't to ButJte, wnere he went to secure the signatures of the truslees of 'the School of Mines to the bonds issued in behalf of that institution. ! The Sor-iety of Montana Pioneers will i hold its annual meeting at Kozeman Sept. 10 and 11. The last annual meet-; meet-; ing was Imid in Virginia City, Mont, j The Hozeman people are preparing to ! eclipse in every way the meeting held i in Virginia. Two more new priests have arrived i specially ordained for Montana Dio-1 Dio-1 ceres. Father Stack, a native of County I Kerry. Ireland, and Father McGlynn, 'a native of County Donegal, Ireland, j Both the fathers have taken the theo-j theo-j logical course in Alleghany, New York, j find have only been ordained a short j time. There is a wide field for their labor in Montana, as it has been very i hard to keep up with the growing de- mands made on this diocese for more ; priests. The Rev. Father Thompson, i whose arrival was announced a short lime ago has been assigned pastor at j Boulder. He left Sunday to take charge I there. Father McGlynn is a distant j relative of the late Dr. McGlynn. ' Mrs. J. Moran of Anaconda, who has i been a patient for sometime past at ; St. John's hospital, is improving rap-; rap-; idly. She underwent an operation a I short time ago and will soon be able I to return to her home. |
