Show T How Blessed Articles Lose Indulgences Attached. ; The following information is taken from the Tastoralblatt (No. S). '- Blessed articles can lose the indulgences attached at-tached to them: First, by wear or destruction; second, sec-ond, by sale or purchase; third, b.V being loaned or ' given away. . 1. Medals and crucifixes lose their indulgcnced blessing when they become so. worn that "the" pictures pic-tures (especially the face of the Savior) are no longer reeogniable. In crucifixes, the indulgences arc attached to the corpus and can therefore be transferred with it to another cross. The indulgences indulg-ences of a rosary rest on the beads, which can be restrung without losing their power. Xor does the loss of a few beads invalidate the blessing. Statues lose their blessing if they are broken or destroyed, not by slight damage. ' j 2. Such articles lose the attached indulgence ! if they are given away or loaned after ihe owner has used them, in order to enable others to gain the indulgences. It is permitted, however, to lcfem a rosary to some one else with the sole purpose of enabling him to pray the beads more easily or conveniently. con-veniently.
