" 'Gentlemen, what is your verdict?' uald the Judge. " 'Wall,' said the foreman, 'eleven on us is for hanging, Jedgc. yer honor; but the twelfth man sticks out for acquittal, acquit-tal, and there ain't no arguin' with him. He's a low down, no 'count rooster, roost-er, anyways, and so we've decided to make our verdict unanimous by hangin' 'em both.' ' |
