Show BUTTE, MONT. Rev. F. J. Vincent, a Salt Lake clergyman, cler-gyman, was in Butte Monday en route to Bozeman. Michael McCarthy, a former shift boss on the Mountain Con. mine, died Saturday at his home, lo East Center street, Centerville, after an illness of five weeks. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. 'Joseph McCarthy, three brothers, John, James and-William, and a sister, Mrs. -William Snyder, all of Butte. Mr. McCrathy was born in Michigan thirty-two years ago. He lived In Butte-'for thirteen years and was very. popular with his associates. The funeral was .held Saturday morning morn-ing at 8:30 o'clock from the family residence. re-sidence. A solemn high mass of requiem re-quiem was celebrated at St. Lawrence's church at 10 o'clock. The funeral of Maurice Dempsey was held Friday morning at 9:30 o'clock from the residence of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Curran, 322 North Main street. Rev. Father James English of St. Mary's church officiated and at the close of the services the Cornish quartette quar-tette and John Bennett, Maurice Rowe, Al Ashbourne, Arthur Smith, George Kahler. Thomas G. May, Charles Hancock. Han-cock. Thomas Kilgallon, jr.. and Thomas Thom-as Hogan sang "Nearer, My God, to Thee," accompanied by Miss Irene Grampre, pianist. There were many floral offerings which attested to the esteem in which Mr. Dempsey was held by his many friends. The body was shipped to Wharton, N. J., Mr.. Demp-sev's Demp-sev's former home, for inturmsnt ac companied by his cousin, John Demp-j Demp-j sey, of this city. Charles Gallagher, , Paddy Ryan, Steve Lefoe, John Murray, Mur-ray, Tom Morrissey and Steve Hart acted as pallbearers. |
