"The Girl and the Governor" will be produced at the Salt Lake theatre next Saturday night by the Salt Lake Opera company, the local company which made such a prinounced hit last year in "Robin Hood." The scenes of this opera are laid in South America in a Spanish province, and have to do with the antics an-tics of Don Pascal de Mesquita, the governor of La Guayra, who has captured cap-tured an Englishman, and tries to force her into a hateful marriage. The company com-pany includes all the old favorites, viz., John D. Spencer. Hazel Taylor. Edna Evans. Agatha Berkhoel, George D. Pyper, Fred Graham. Hugh W. Dougall, Alex. Campbell. Horace S. Ensign, En-sign, George W. Pyper, John D. Owen. Professor John J. McCIellan has had charge of the musical part of the work, and the Salt Lake costuming house will furnish the costumes. |
