Show y A PREACHER WITH A SUBJECT. A preacher in Elyria, O.. discussed in his pulpit last Tuesday night the application of his wife for divorce. He explained that they never had been congenial. He coolly said : "I was always a ladies' man when I was young. I had an opportunity to marry many wealthy girls, but for some inscrutable reason I chose the wife I did, who was quite indifferent to me. It seetned as though her indifference drew her to me. "We have agreed upon what shall go into the divoee suit, and I shall not contest it. Mrs. Wanna -maker will have the custody of our seven children. She has agreed to work and support them." We think that Rev. Wannumaker is still "a la- ("';-dies' ("';-dies' man." He is certainly not a man's man. After " the agreement as to "what shall go into the divorce suit," Mr. Wannamaker, it is expected, will marry a Mrs. Fulton. We wonder if the civil court, knowing about the agreement, will lend itself to what looks like a conspiracy. Catholic Universe. |
