Show St. Joseph's Feast in Ogden. i From the early morning service of the dear old 'saint of Israel even to the last sweet strains of the vesper hymn, the feast of St. Joseph was celebrated with loving reverence in the church sacred to his name in our city. Edifying Edify-ing beyond expression was the sight at the first Mass, when the Children of Mary received Holy Communion in a body, preparatory to a reception at the academy in the afternoon. Then thirteen thir-teen young hearts pledged themselves to honor in a special manner Mary Immaculate Im-maculate and promote devotion to that tender Queen. - Fervent exhortations from Rev. Father Fa-ther Cushnahan spoke the tender zeal and solicitude which he ever manifests for the members of his congregation, and seemed to find a responsive chord in the hearts of all. At 4 p. m. the cer emony of bestowing the badge and medal' med-al' of Mary Immaculate took place. During the singing, oif "Ave Maria Stella" Stel-la" the aspirants : circled themselves around the altar. and through Miss Kathleen Kane expressed their desire to be received into the - society and vowed their devotion and fidelity to the Queen of Heaven. Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament Sacra-ment concluded the touching ceremony, and as the final notes of the "Tantum Ergo" died away, all felt that St. Joseph Jo-seph was still filling the office intrusted to him at Nazareth, leading souls to Godi through the sweet persuasive influence in-fluence of Mary. |
