Show Our friend. The Citizen, has been rather quiet of late on the Italian question. ques-tion. But wo were pleased to note another rousing article in last week's issue in an answer to a Father Beccheini,' who attempted an apology for his Italian brethern for their reluctance re-luctance to follow their people to this country. As The Citizen well says, its a case of maccaroni. We have never noticed any discontent or home sickness sick-ness on the part of any of our foreign clergy, when placed in charge of Irish parishes. Even when the congregations congrega-tions murmur against the mutilated English served out to them in the pulpit, pul-pit, the Italian, Belgian or German pastor bears it all with true Christian resignation and hangs on to his benefice. |
