Mrs. W. B. Munday and little son of Las Vegas are visiting Mrs. Mini-day's Mini-day's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Phillips. Phil-lips. Miss Alice Ward of San Francisco is visiting Miss Laura Farrell of this city. Dr. and Mis. James C. Hanchett. former residents of Salt' Lake, who have spent the last two years in San Francisco, will return shortly to again make their home in ihis city. Mrs. Sarah McChrystal and her j daughter, Mrs. C. E. Parsons, have arrived ar-rived from Denver and are at home for a tim fit the McChrystal home on East First South street. Col. Miss Selma Wall accompanied by her Alice Wall, will sail from New York, May 2X, on the steamship Moltke of the Hamburg-American line, for Europe, where they will spend the summer. Mi.s Wall and Miss Alice have been at Mount- Vernon seminary for the winter, and Mary, the younger sister, will graduate from the classical course of the High school in June. However, arrangements with the principal have been made so that she may accompany her sister. The European party consists of ten of the students at the school and Miss Louise Wey of this city, chaperoned chaper-oned by .Miss Annie Marquess Kurtz, one of the teachers, and Mrs. llensley, a principal of the seminary. Colonel and Mrs. Wall, with their daughter May 15 and will see the party 'off. The itinerary includes a visit to Gibraltar and the famous old Moorish market, Naples. Pompeii. Island of Capri. Rome, Florence. Venice, Milan, and the Italian lakes. Lucerne. Munich, Nuremburg. Heidelberg. Wiesbaden. From Biebrich the party will take the steamer to Cologne and will probably arrive in Paris about the ISth of July. After a ten-days' visit in the French metropolis, they will go on to London for a day or two. thence to Scotland, and on theirretuni will spend a week in London and will sail for New York Saturday. August 17. Miss Wall will be met In New York by her father, Colonel Wall, and will return to this city with him. Misses Alice and Mary will return to Mount Vernon seminary, where they will remain for the winter. The girls are well known socially, and their trip will be followed with interest in-terest by host of friends. Mrs. George Hamilton of Pocatello was a Salt Lake visitor on Monday. She was accompanied by her son. Lea, who will attend school here for the next few months. S. J. Murray left for Nevada on Friday Fri-day evening. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Truelson have been the guests of Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Crawford during the past week. Joseph Ducci of Kimberley is spending spend-ing a few weeks in the city. Jasper McCaskell visited his mother last week. Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Daly entertained a box party on Friday at the symphony. sym-phony. Hugh Wood and his wife returned to Salt Lake from an extended visit to the north last Tuesday. Mrs. Trumbo has returned from a delightful visit In California. Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Hagenbarth will return in a few days from, an extended visit in the east and south. Mrs. O. J. Salisbury and Miss Anna McCornlck are expected home from the east next week. Mrs. C. J. Collins entertained her friends at an informal but delightful tea last week. Miss Katherine Judge and her sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Theodore Baldwin, are visiting visit-ing in New York. Miss Frances O'Meara, formerly of Salt Lake, is visiting her brother, Mr. W. P. O'Meara, in Los Angeles. W. J. Halloian and daughter, Florence, Flor-ence, may visit St. Mary's academy, Notre Dame, Ind.. in June, where Mary Halloran is attending school. Joseph Geoghegan and his charming family are contemplating a visit to Ireland during the Irish fair lime. |
