Devlin of Denver, who for the past month has been out at the Bullfrog & Transvaal mine, returned to the Queen City Tuesday. Dave Walsh, who is interested with Jim O'Connell. Ed Powers and J. P. Murphy in a group of unorganized claims near the Lee Mohawk, in Lee, reports having obtained the other day an assay of J103.60 in gold and 200 ounces In silver from rock sent up from the property. The Bakersfield Echo has the following follow-ing to say about an old Bullfrogger: "Jo P. Carroll will leave Tuesday for Wonder, Nev., where he will locate. Jo P. Carroll, who has generally done more boosting for the communities in which he resided than for looking out for his own Interests, intends to get to some good propositions. His many friends here hope that when he returns to Bakersfield he will return with his pockets lined with gold." Miss Mary Busch, accompanied by her brother-in-law, George Bockflnger, departed for Colorado last Saturday. Miss Busch will spend the summer with her parents in Denver, while Mr. Bockflnger will put in the season holding hold-ing down a ranch that he pre-empted a few years ago in Routt county. |
