Show TIN FOUND IN IDAHO. Discoveries on Panther Creek Cause Excitement at Salmon City. Tin has been struck in quantities that have created excitement in Idaho, according ac-cording to X. I. Andrews, one of the early settlers and prominent citizens of Salmon City. The strike was encountered encoun-tered on Panther creek, not far from Salmon City, and accounts for the mystery mys-tery of quantities of stream tin found for years in the water of this district. Eli Minert. Major Patterson and a number of Boston people are interested interest-ed in the find and gold has been forgotten for-gotten temporarily in the sci amble tor tin claims. f "A great many misleading statements s have been given out in reference to j Thunder mountain," said Mr. Andrews J last night. "The country is rich, but it is not the open seseme it has been pictured. The only route to the fields i is via Salmon City. Contrary to gen- eral belief, it is open all the year. There is no rush mi as yet. In summer the entire distance can be covered in four f days from Salmon City. In winter it wiil take longer, but the trip can be i made with little delay and in perfect safety. There are routes in from. Eloise j I and Stanley basin, but they are impas- sible in winter and do not afford the i i timber, grass, water and other advan- ? tages found along the Salmon City route. i "Last summer $103,000 was spent in j building homes and business property in Salmon City. The boom has just commenced. Before long we expect to ! start out in an effort to make it the j state capital." j |
