Show EUREKA. A. G. McGuire. an organizer of the Modern Woodmen of America, was in Eureka during the week working in the interest of that prder. 4 . Mrs. J. C. Sullivan and Mrs. James D. Stack returned Wednesday morning of last week after a few months' absence ab-sence soent at Los Angeles, San Francisco. Fran-cisco. Portland and Tacoma. At the latter place they spent a few weeks visiting Mrs. Stack's relatives. They report a' most enjoyable outing. 4 ' . The members of the Reading club met at the .home of -Mrs. Patrick Shea Tuesdav evening of iast week, entertaining enter-taining the gentlemen and a number of other guests. The early part of the evening was spent in playing progressive progres-sive "63," and prizes were awarded as follows: Dr. Field and Mrs. James Crooks, first prizes: J. E. Driseoll and Miss Finley. consolation prizes: Delicious De-licious refreshments were served during the evening and the affair was of a highly enjoyable character. ! . ' The ladies of St- Patrick's church gave a dinner on last Tuesday for the benefit of the Altar society. . J C Sullivan was in Salt Lake on Wednesday of last week.
