Halloran and his daughter, Florence, will leave on Saturday for I El Paso, Tex. Mr. Halloran is a delegate dele-gate to the mining congress held at El Paso, and after the congress is closed he w ill visit the City of Mexico. The history section of the Ladies Literary club met Thursday morning at the club home at 10 o'clock. The subject sub-ject was "From the Dorian Migration to the Median Wars," by Mrs. W. II. Bintz. Ed. J. McArdle, brother of P. L. Me-Ardle, Me-Ardle, national advocate of the Knights of Columbus, is at the Wilson en route home to Chicago. 4- Mrs. E. L. Hern, wife of one of the grand officers of the Knights of Columbus, Colum-bus, has been visiting from the east with Mrs. W. P. O'Meara. en route to Hollywood. Ca!.. where she will remain for the present on account of her health. 4 George J. Connolly, district deputy for the state of California, is in town from a New York trip, and is visiting with Mr. W. P. O'Meara en route to the coast. With a well-chosen programme of musical numbers and recitations, members mem-bers of the Unitarian Sunday school entertained en-tertained their friends at a harvest entertainment, en-tertainment, given at. Unity hall, last Friday evening. The room was decorated deco-rated with jaok-o'lanterns and autumn leaves. Those who participated were Beth Larson, Anna Tolhurst. Samuel Clino, Harriet Eddy. Charlotte Perkes. Marion Orr, Lucy Cahoon. Martha Watson and Miss Fisher. . After the programme was finished, an amusing one-act comedietta was given, entitled, I "American Beauties." The prettiest ! number on the programme was given 1 by Charlotte Perkes and Beth Larson, j two sweet dainty little girls, who won , all hearts. It will be interesting to former pupils of St. Mary's academy to j know that Charlotte Perkes is the daughter of Clara Cook, a popular pupil pu-pil of St. Mary's in the "old days." --4 Mrs. A. J. Daly returned last Monday from a week's trip to Los An geles. --'4- Malcolm McDonald of Tonopah, who has been visiting with friends in the city for several days left last week for his home. : Miss Mary O'Donnell of Butte, who has been visiting friends in the city during the week, left for California yesterday. Dr. S. H. Pinkerton has returned from a week's business trip north. Lou Morrison came up from his Beaver county nrooerties to cast his ballot. 4 Mrs. M. Brennan will entertain the members of the Seekers' Literary club Friday afternoon. Nov. 10, at 2 o'clock. ! A biography of 'Ella Wheeler Wilcox ! will be given by Mrs. Owens, and Mrs. McDonald will read a paper on "The Government of Japan." ; Mark B. Kerr, a mining engineer of San Francisco, will pass through Ogdeu today on the Overland Limited. He is on his way to New York with his wife and on his return will spend a few days in Salt Lake. Mr. Kerr, w ho is ! a brother of Kenneth C. Kerr of the Salt Lake route, is an old-time, resident of Zion. Mr. and Mrs. John Dern and Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Wood leave next week fov Europe, where they will spend the winter. win-ter. Before returning to the city the party will spend several weeks in Egypt. f- Miss Anna Sullivan has returned to Salt Lake from a visit to Seattle. J. C.
