Meeting 'of League of the Cross the last Sunday in ihe month at 3:30 p. m. The Knights of Columbus meet at Columbus Co-lumbus ball the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. The Children of Mary meet on the third Sunday of the month at St. Mary's academy. 4 The members of the St. Cecelia choir practice at 9:30 -on Sunday morning. 4 Rehearsal for the junior choir is held every Saturday afternoon at 3:30; the young girls practice at. 4 o'clock; the little girls and boys at 3:30. 4 ' ' Rehearsals for the Junior choir will be held this Saturday.. Parents are requested to send their children.- . Mrs. C. C Slade and Mrs. Fred Wey are the ladies appointed to attend to the altars this week. Rev. Father Curran celebrated mass at P.ingham last Sunday. 4 J. K. Curtis was the soloist at St. Mary's last Sunday. Mr. Curtis has a fine baritone voice that is very pleasing-. The programme at St. Mary's on Sunday will, if followed strictly as planned, be varied. Miss Owen and R. C. Dunbar have the soprano and bass duet in the "Gloria," "Glo-ria," as also Mrs. Curtis and J. E. Curtis Cur-tis have the contralto and baritone duet: Miss Fafek has the soprano solo in "Gloria;" Miss Fitzpatrick, Miss Little and A. J. Bruneau will be the soloists in the "Credo;" Miss Farrell will sing the "Agnus Dei." 4 ' - ' Miss Grace Sullivan, a talented pupil of Professor Pedersen, officiated at the organ at 9 o'clock mass last Sunday. Bishop Scanlan was in Tonopah Sunday Sun-day last, and will be home lay.r in the week from his Nevada trip. The ladies of the Altar society will give a social next Monday evening at the K. of C. hall. Tickets, 50c. -4- There will be rehearsal for the Junior, choir Satnrdav afternoon at 3:30 'and 4:15. - - . i Requiem mass was celebrated on Monday for the repose of the soul of the late Mrs. Patrick O'Meara. . 4 The principal feasts of November will be the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin, Vir-gin, Nov. 21: the feast of St. Cecelia, Nov. 22, and St. John of the Cross, Nov. 24. 4 " " , The ladies of the Altar society held an important and special meeting last Monday. |
