Show CATHEDRAL NOTES. Mrs. W. H. McDermott and Mrs. W. H. Eintz are the ladies appointed to attend to the altars this week. Kev. Father Keenan celebrated mass at Merrur last Sunday. Services were held at the state prison last Sunday. Mrs. Al Whiteman, who bas an exquisite soprano voice, sang two beautiful solos. "Come Unto Him" by Handel, and "Abide With Me" bv .uiaaie. , The Catholic Knights will meet next Monday evening. The Knights of Columbus held their usual monthly meeting last Wednesday Wednes-day evening. ' The promoters of the Sacred Heart league will meet next Sundav afternoon after-noon in the sacristy at 3 o"clock. Rev. Father Beglcy arrived in the r't' last week from Europe. Father Begley will be connected with the cathedral ca-thedral parish for the future. Instructions are given every Tuesday Tues-day and Friday for the children of the parish, who will make their first holy communion next month. Parents are requested to see that their children attend at-tend the instructions regularly. Bight Uev. Bishop Scanlan presented the children of the choir with some, beautiful holy pictures last Saturday. ' Tlie children were also given another candy treat by Bt. Bcv. Bishop, who makes every effort to encourage the children to attend the choir. He would like to see every child in the parish join the cathedral Junior choir. Rev. Father Morrissey baptized the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. P. IE Gar-rity Gar-rity last Sunday. The little one was christened Harvey Severne Joseph, and the sponsors were Miss Phoebe Hai-Hin i and Mr. M. Canity. During the month of May devotions will be held every evening at 7:3f. The devotions will consist of the rosary and j litany every evening, and benediction on Wednesday and Friday evenings. 1 The children of the choir will render the ! music every evening. |
