Funeral occurred Sunday afternoon from the residence of James McCarthy, 3714 Humbodlt st re-el. to Annunciation-church. Interment Inter-ment in Mount Calvary cemetery. Feb. 13. after funeral service at Sacred Heart church. Mr. Michael J. M.Naniara. a young man of J3 years, died lasl week tit the home of his uncle. Mr. Smith, who had been a father to him since his. childhood. child-hood. He was buried Sunday morning from Si. Francis de Sales -church, a il-degation of Knights of Columbus attending, at-tending, as tlie young man was a member of that body. Interment was in Mount Olivet cemetery. Mr William Carroll, one of the most popular mail carriers of the city, died on Sunday, Feb. IT. at his home, 3210 Lawrence street. Mr. Carroll was It! yens of age, and for over twenty vein's was i member of Sac-red Heart "parish. His death was due to his great devo tion to tne aunt who bad raised him. and te win m he had been as a loving son. The aunt. Miss Mary Carroll, died six weeks ago, and Mr. Carroll, (hough ill at the time, insisted on accompanying ac-companying the remains to their last resting place in St. Louis. Tiie exposure expo-sure to inclement weather ami his weakened condition, combined with grief over the passing away of one who had always occupied a mother's place in his heart, completely prostrated hint, and from the first no hope was entertained for his recovery. His funeral occurred Tuesday morning, morn-ing, Feb. 19. from Sacred Heart church, where he had served as usher ever since it was built. The church was filled with sorrowing friends, for -jhis geniai. sunny nature endeared hi-j? to all. and at his funetal was a notable sprinkling of those he had served for years in his humble capacity, and who will miss the cheery words that always accompanied the delivery of his letters.
