Show j 0GDEN, UTAH. (Special Correspondence.) After sixteen years of service in the Ogden schools, City Superintendent Allison has tendered his resignation. The fact that he retained the position for so long a time is proof of his unquestioned un-questioned worth and ability. Beginning Begin-ning as principal of the Grant school, he rose in educational Sircles until he occupied a trying position, which he filled with ability. He will continue his work in educational lines, but by means of connecting himself with a publishing firm, with headquarters at Ogden. Mrs. E. F. Thomas, wife of a prominent prom-inent citizen, was burled from the family fam-ily residence last week. Mrs. Thomas has been a constant but patient sufferer suf-ferer for the past four years. She is survived by a devoted husband and a bright little son. One of the most enjoyable events in Ogden social circles was the K. of C. hsi M holrl lust ATonrtnv nirht in Yn- gress dancing academy. With good music, gallant gentlemen and a bevy of Ogden's beautiful women, the night was an undeniably pleasant one. Mrs. J. W. Guthrie and Mrs. A. R. Hey wood entertained at a dainty luncheon last week in honor of Mrs. Rogers of Birmingham. England. Covers Cov-ers were laid for twelve, and the decorations deco-rations were as dainty as the amiable hostesses. Masters W. Miller and J. Sweeney of All Hallows celebrated Lincoln day by visiting their sisters at Sacred Heart academy. The fortunate little chaps accompanied Rev. Dubois on his first visit to Sacred Heart. Attorney J. J. O'Laughlin of Chicago has arrived in Ogden, and is now installed in-stalled in the law office of City Attor ney James If. Devine. J. H. MK'li:i-tock, MK'li:i-tock, his partner, having removed to Los Angeles. Mr. McClintock is an old schoolmate of Mr. Devine, and visited in this city last year. He Is pleased with Ogden and intends making his home here. |
