Show HELENA. Bishop Brondeil Entertains Santa Claus at St. Joseph's Home. Sunday night the Right- Reverend John B. Brondel, bishop of Helena, entertained en-tertained at dinner all the resident priests and the members of the choir of the cathedral of the Sacred Heart, at his residence on Catholic hill. The event was a memorable one, for the bishop knows how to entertain and-is nothing if not hospitable. Santa Claus didnotfail to call at St. Joseph's home on Christmas evening, and the friends and benefactors of the home will no doubt be pleased to learn that he did not come empty handed. About 7:30, when all the children were assembled around the Christmas tree, they heard a loud jingling of bells and before some of the anxious eyes had time to exchange looks Santa Claus appeared in their midst, his face beaming beam-ing with joy at the thought of being able to satisfy such a happy looking crowd, but he seemed prepared for the task and each child received just what it had asked for in its letter to Santa Claus, and by 10:30 the faith of the children was rewarded and all their anticipations were fulfilled. The boys had petitioned Santa Claus . several weeks ago for drums, whistles and harmonicas, and it is fortunate that the home is outside the city limits or the people of Helena would wish that Santa San-ta was not so generous with his noisy gifts. The Sisters would be much pleased to have the friends and benefactors come and see the children during the holidays, or at any other time. |
