Show Obituary. Batholomew Ferretti, prominent among the Italian citizens of Denver, died on Monday, July 1. at his home, 1755 Platte street. Mr. Ferrettti was born in Italy seventy years ago and came to America in 1870. Nine years later he established his residence in Denver and soon became active in municipal mu-nicipal affairs. For twenty consecutive years he was employed by the board of public works, resigning two years ago on account of ill health. His funeral was held Wednesday afternoon, July 3. from Mount Carrael church; and was attended by many city employes, as well as by the large body of Italians that recognized the deceased as a leader. lead-er. Many Italian church and fraternal frater-nal societies followed the body to its resting place in Mount Calvary cemetery. ceme-tery. Mr. Ferretti is survived by four sons, Richard. John, Jacob and George Ferretti. all prominent in the business life of Denver. John F. Joyce, son of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Joyce of 36 West Nevada I place, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, at the family home, after a long and painfull illness. Mr. Joyce was the first member of the Catholic Young Men's club to be taken from the ranks "J nu uunng me two months that he lay stricken with spinal meningitis menin-gitis at-St. Anthony's hospital his sufferings suf-ferings were in a measure relieved by the loving solicitude of his young companions, com-panions, who daily, visited his sickroom sick-room bearing messages of comfort and cheer. At the funeral, which was held Saturday morning from St. Frances de Sals church, the Catholic Young Men's club attended in a body, and the pallbearers pall-bearers were chosen from among the club members. Interment was in Mount Olivet cemetery. Mr. Joyce was a cousin cou-sin of Mrs. D. G. Monaghan of the Cathedral Ca-thedral parish. - The funeral of Hugh L. Sammon, who died- in Ogden, Utah, on July 1, was held from Annuncnation church, this city, Tuesday morning, July 9. Burial was in Mount Calvary cemetery. Mrs. Catherine Haggerty of 2S25 West Twenty-fifth avenue, who died at St. Anthony's hospital Saturday, July 6, was buried Monday morning, July 8, from St. Dominic's church. Rev. Alice May Roberts, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Roberts, died on Saturday, July 6, at the family home. 375S Gilpin street, and was buried bu-ried in Mount Calvary cemetery Sun day afternoon. Mrs. Honora McNamara died last week at St. Anthony's hospital at the advanced age of 70 years, and was buried bu-ried Monday morning from St. Leo's church, where requiem mass was offered of-fered for the repose of her soul. Interment Inter-ment was in Mount Calvary cemetery. JT The funeral of Leander Strong took place .Monday morning, July 8, from St. Joseph's church, where Rev. Father Eisler, C. S. S. R., said requiem mass for the repose of his soul. Burial was in Mount Calvary cemetery. |
