An Eastern Catholic exchange sensibly sensi-bly asks: "Why do we have so many little parish booklets and ostensible church calendars, that in too many cases pbse as papers and permit solicitation solici-tation of subscriptions thereto not alone within the boundaries of the parish, but among the people generally within adjacent ad-jacent territory, too often to the detriment det-riment and embarrassment of the recognized rec-ognized diocesan weekly. Too often, also, advertising is solicited at prices that border dangerously on graft and out of all proportion to the results possible pos-sible to be assured. ' "Would It not be better and wiser for our literary clergy, whose cacoethes scribendi finds vent in the diffusive and dubious pamphlet form, to loyally and constantly contribute to the columns of their diocesan journals the excellent and timely fruits of their edi- s'In union there is strength.
