The wedding of Miss Lillian Keith nnd Lieutenant Albert Allen will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 8. Mrs. O. J. Salisbury and Miss Salisbury Salis-bury entertained Wednesday evening in honor of their guest. Miss Rosecrans. Mr. C. H. Reilly, accompanied by his wife and family, left last Monday morning to spend a month at Holiday Park. Mrs. Joseph Slat of Tort Huron. Harrison, tourist conductor of the Rock Island, over the death of his beloved wife. Rev. Father Joseph, the Passionist priest, who has been giving the Retreat at St. Mary's left for his home in Baltimore Balti-more the last of the week. Miss Katherine MeCooey won the prize offered to the child who sold the greatest number of tickets for the mu-nicale mu-nicale given by the children's choir som time ago. The prize, which was a beautiful beau-tiful book, was presented last Thursday. Thurs-day. On last Sunday Rt. Rev. Bishop Scan-Ian, Scan-Ian, assisted by Rev. Father Curran. administered the sacrament of Confirmation Confirm-ation to Miss Lillian McGarry of Beaver, Bea-ver, Utah. Miss McGarry received her first Holy Communion on July 22. She left for her home on Monday evening. James Ivers, Jr., the young son of Hon. James Ivers, met with a slig-ht but painful accident last Wednesday. In company with some playmates he had climbed a tree, when the limb on which he stood fell to the ground. He Mas stunded for some time, but soon rallied and is now fast convalescing. Last Sunday at St. Mary's the offertory offer-tory was sung by Mrs. Eugene Dela-phenna, Dela-phenna, who is visiting here from New York. Mrs. Delaphenna has a most Teautiful soprano voice that has been carefully trained. She is a pupil of that excellent teacher, Madame Garcia. Sousa, the great bandmaster, tried to engage her for his concert tour in Europe last fall. Miss Mamie Byrne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Byrne, formerly of this city, died last Sunday in Tsevada, Mo. The news of her death was sadly received re-ceived by many friends in this city, who deeply regret the untimely death of a gentle and lovely girl. Miss Byrne lias been ill for many months; she was . patient, cheerful sufferer, and her death will be a surprise to many who never knew how greatly she suffered. About six years ago Mr. and Mrs. Byrne lost two daughters here. They lie buried in Mount Calvary cemetery. The tenderest sympathy is now extend- ' ed to the bereaved parents in their lat- " est bereavement. The members of the 9 o'clock choir at thi cathedral will have their annual excursion to Lagoon on Saturday, August Au-gust 4. lit. liev. Bishop gives this excursion every year to the children who faithfully faith-fully attend the choir.
