Show I KNIGHTS BEGIN TO ARRIVE. First Delegation From the East to the Columbus Convention. The first of the many trains bearing members of the Knights of Columbus, with their wives, sons and daughters, to the national convention, which is to be held in Los Angelas next week, arrived ar-rived in Salt Lake Wednesday morning from the East, coming in over the Rio Grande Western, so that the visitors might have an opportunity to look over the city of Zion. Thsre were nearly 300 in the party, representing councils" from Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Among them were: Rev. William J. McMullen, of Pittsfburg; Rev. Luke F. Sharkey, of Jamestown, N. Y.; ReV. G. K. Bigley, of Juniata. Pa.; Rev. M. Philipps, of Buffalo; Rev. J. Edward Wallis, of Philadelphia: and. District Grand Knight J. W. Sweeney, of St. Marys, Pa. The strangfers were met at the train by a reception committee of the Salt Lake council and were escorted to the Wilson hotel, where room 123, decorated decor-ated with the national colors of the order, had been reserved for their entertainment. en-tertainment. The day wan apent in sightseeing and a visit to Saltair, and at 6 o'clock the special pulled out for Ogden on its way over the Southern Pacific. Thursday five trains are expected in from the Easit and the arrivals will be entertained by members of the local council. All th?se trains will depart tomorrow morning, some going to Los Angeles by way of the San Pedro route, and others by the Southern Pacific. No fixed programme pro-gramme has been arranged for this event as the visit is preliminary to an extended one later in the. lionth by the Grand Knights. I Members of Salt Lake council, to the number of more than 100, will start for the coast at 8:30 tomorrow morning over the San Pedro road, and special arrangements have been made for their entertainment en route.
