Show j 0GDEN, UTAH. (Special Correspondence.) The Chicago Symphony club comes to Ogden on next Monday afternoon und evening, March 30. The recommendations recommenda-tions are high as to the ability of the singers. The principal feature of the matinee wiy be the appearance of Madame Bleauvelt. This will be a genuine' treat for Ogden's. music-lovers. The presentation of Elijah by the Tabernacle choir, assisted by Mrs. Lillian Lil-lian Farnsworth on last Thursday evening, proved to be a grand success. One number, however, was unavoidably unavoida-bly omitted, the solo by -Miss Maude Belnan. who was ill with a cold. An appreciative audience filled the tabernacle. taber-nacle. Tom Smith of Wyoming, brother of Messrs. Denny and Pat Smith of Ogden. Og-den. met with a very serious accident while visiting the former brother. The automobile which they occupied, in turning, collided with the street car. The accident occurred directly in front of the European hotel. Mr. Smith was. thrown out upon his face and dragged some thirty feet. He was carried' into the sample room of the hotel, where Dr. Convay was speedily summoned. He dressed the wounds, which were exceedingly serious. Mr. Smith was moved lo the hospital. It is sincerely hoped that the accident will not prove I fatal. Much iiiterest is being manifested in the series of lectures upon the new marriage laws. They are delivered by Rev. P. M. Cushnahan every Sunday evening in St. Joseph's church, which has been well filled since the commencement com-mencement of the sermons. John Thomas, son of B. F. Thomas of the Thomas Printing company, who has been seriously ill with diphtheiia and scarlet fever at his-home on Ts-ty-fourth street, is convalescing very rapidly. Mrs. Thomas is also quite improved im-proved in health. The city has had men busy surveying upper Twenty-fifth street for the purpose pur-pose of paving and curbing, which will be a great improvement to property owners of that part. MARGARET MILLER, '06.
