Show ST. MARY'S ACADEMY. Contemplation of Events Observed in Child of Mary's Calendar. The Child of Mary's calendar is a vareigated cycle of bright and somber-hued somber-hued days. In letters of dazzling brilliance bril-liance the Immaculate Conception is inscribed: the Nativity and other days of joy glow with heavenly light: while dark and gloomy are the clouds that brood over her sorrows, her Compassion. Compas-sion. Even as the children of a country coun-try are taught to keep the national anniversaries, so, as subjects of Heaven's Heav-en's (Jueen, the Children of Mary learn to cherish and observe the feast days of their mother, by which means, in the course of a year, every phase of her wondrous life passes in review before be-fore their admiring gaze. Among these festivals, it would seem that the Presentation Pres-entation should appeal with special appropriateness ap-propriateness to young girls: and doubtless the white-veiled procession of communicants devoutly moving toward the altar 011 the morning of the 21sl conjured up in more than one mind that lovely scene in the little Mary's life when, from the hands of Anne and Joachim, the high priest received her into the temple and registered her life offering to Him of whom she was one day to.be the mother and yet remain forever a virgin. f . Another bright-lettered day in the week's calendar was the feast of St. Cecelia. Ah patroness of music, many votaries rejoiced to pay her honor and claim her assistance by attending Mass' j on the 22d and again receiving II .'. y Communion. Leonard's Mass was sung I by the choir, the Rev. Father Deneaf offering the holy sacrifice, i" ' At no time perhaps does the truih of Campbell's line, "Coming events ca.5t their Shadows before." strike the average student with such force as during the weeks preceding examina- ', tion. Even the bright anticipations . j clustering about the Christmas holidays are well nigh eclipsed by the anxiety felt' for the issue of the ordeal just preceding pre-ceding that happy time. The remaining remain-ing interval, however, offers ample opportunity op-portunity both to the successful student to make assurance doubly sure, and to' any who may have been remiss to redeem their negligence and consequent loss by diligent and thorough reviews. -- Roll of honor, for amiabiiity. n 1 1 -nss. order, correct deportment, and observance of rules, for the week ending end-ing Nov.
