Show ANACONDA, MONT. Mrs. J. H. Duffy was the hostess at a series of delightful affairs at her home on Wtrt Fourth street during last week. On Wednesday afternoon she entertained a number of friends at a Kensington tea. Those who were invited in-vited broughc their sewing and spent the time in profitable and pleasing work. On Thursday afternoon " Mrs. Duffy entertained at euchre. Many Anaconda and Butte ladiey enjoyed her hospitality. hospi-tality. The affair was one of the most noteworthy of the season so far. Miss Martha Evans won the first prize, a cut glass creamer, and the second prize was won by Mrs. W. Gailey, it being a vase. Mrs. H. H. Neil won the third prize, a beautiful piece of Bohemian Bo-hemian glassware. A number of ladies and gentlemen were Mrs. Duffy's guests of Thursday evening. The prizes were won by Mr. and Mrs. A. C. MacCallum, respectively. respec-tively. The gentleman's prize was half a dozen fancy litpior glasses. The ladies' prize was half a dozen bread and" butter plates. Mrs. F. II. Talbot, of Butte, was Mrs. Duffy's guest of honor. Mrs: D. D. Twohy will spend the winter months in Anaconda. Mrs. Ben Mahan and daughters are visiting Mrs. Mahan's mother in Texas. f Miss Harriet Daly left last week for New York. : -; Mrs. Charles Kelly of Butte has returned re-turned home after a short visit in this city. :" ' Jerry Cosgrove. who was formerly connected with the Anaconda Copper company, but now master mechanic for the Center Star and War Eagle Mining company of Rossland, B. C. is spending a few days with friends in the city. Miss Lenore O'Malley and Miss Josephine Jos-ephine Kellett, two -of the Anaconda teachers, visited in Butte last week. t Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Dougherty and children have gone to Spokane, where the will live in future. f Michael Brennan, an old time resident res-ident of Anaconda, died at St. Ann's hospital Tuesday morning at the age of 60 years. Pie leaves one son. who is a member of the Anaconda fire department, de-partment, and one daughter. |
