The Misses Lu- 'LARSEN FAMILY HOLDS GATHERING All of the sons and daughters of L. C. Larsen met recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Merlin J. Larsen at a family gathering. A hot chicken dinner was served at 7:30 and the remainder of the evening eve-ning was spent in playing progres-j-i.e gamej and sociability. Those present included Mr. and Mrs. L. ' C. Whitehead, Mrs. Dee Kingston!, Mrs, Reed Jamison, Mrs. Ben Porter and Mrs. Leland Morrison of Franklin and Mrs. Stewart Geddes of Banida brought their lunch and gifts to their sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Lester Corbridge last Monday afternoon to surprise her on her birthday anniversary. A social so-cial afternoon was enjoyed. In the evening a group of friends and neighbors called to surprise her. They served a two course dinner din-ner on a long table centered with NO-HOSTESS PARTY FOR RAONA CLUB A no-hostessj party was given at the Club cafe last Friday evening for the members of the Raona club and their partners as guests. The Valentine! motif was carried out in the centerpiece, place cards and favors. A hot dinner was served at 7:30. Pinochle was the diversion diver-sion and Llewellyn Jenkins won high score prize for the men, Mrs. Lewis Roe, high score for the ladies, la-dies, Smith Allen the all-cut and George Egbert the low. About one hundred twenty-five guests called during the afternoon. The young couple will make their home in Preston. Miss Mary Checketts was hostess at a bride's shower last Wednesday Wednes-day evening in honor of Miss Marcel Mar-cel Hoggan who will be married February 14. PATRIOTIC PROGRAM AT' PTA MEETING The general meeting of the Parent-Teachers Association will be held in the high school auditorium audi-torium Wednesday evening, February Feb-ruary 19 at 7:30. The Central school children under the direction of Miss Florence Goodliffe, will present a patriotic musical called "Let Freedom Ring". All the children child-ren in the second, third and fourth grades are participating. Craner entertained for sixteen guests Saturday Sat-urday evening at their home. A hot dinner was served at 7:30 at small tables with the Valentine motif mo-tif carried; out in the menu, place cards and favors. Following dinner din-ner progressive table games were played. Joe Johnson won high score for the men, Mrs. Bruce Wallace Wal-lace high for the ladies, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Lundquist the all-high all-high and Mrs. R. F. Campbell the low prize. PARTY HELD FOR MR. AND MRS MONSON Mr. and Mrs. Dale Monson will leave soon toi make their home in Ogden, Utah. In their honor a party was held Monday evening at the home of Mrs., Alma Monson given by the members of the Sixth ward Sunday School superinten-dency superinten-dency and the members of Elders quorum to which ho; belonged. The ward bishopric and partners were also in attendance. A delicious luncheon was served and games occupied oc-cupied the evening. FINE ARTS CLUB HAS PARTY The Fine Arts club enjoyed a birthday party last Monday evening at Paul's cafe. A patriotic theme was carried) out on invitations and table decorations. Mrs. Robert Clark was toastmis-tress toastmis-tress and responses were given by Mrs. R. F. Campbell, Mrs. Paul Merrill, Miss Dorothy Wakley and Miss Virginia Merrill. PINOCHLE CLUB HAS PARTY" AT CHECKETTS Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Checketts entertained their pinochle club Saturday Sat-urday evening. A supper was served serv-ed at S:00. An arrangement of pink and white sweet peas formed the centerpiece. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Olsen and Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Sternberg Stern-berg won the high and low scores, respectively. VALENTINE PARTY AT HART HOME Mrs. A. J. Hart entertained at a Valentine party last Sunday afternoon after-noon in honor of her son, Quint's tenth birthday. The afternoon was spent making Valentines and playing play-ing games. A dinner was served late in the afternoon. I a decorated birthday -cake. These guests included Mr. and Mrs. W. F. FACULTY WIVES HOLD SOCIAL The Faculty Wives' club held a social last Monday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Sam Fletcher. A delicious luncheon, was served followed fol-lowed by clever table games. Several Sev-eral prizes were given. The Valentine Val-entine idea was carried out in the menu and place cards. Hostesses in charge were Mrs. Fletcher, Mrs. Harvey Larsen and Mrs. Joe Johnson. BRIDGE LUNCHEON AjT GIBSON HOME Mrs. R. B. Gibson entertained eight at bridge and luncheon Saturday Sat-urday afternoon in honor of Mrs. Ray Merrill whose birthday was Friday. High score prize was won by Mrs. L. L. Jenkins and the; low score by Mrs. Merrill. MRS. ALLER HOSTESS TO BRIDGE CLUB Last Thursday evening!
