Show Drive Gains For Lava Health Center EASTERN IDAHO MEN JOIN IN CAMPAIGN Idaho Chairman Of L.rthclay Parties Lends Aid To Plan Gaining momentum daily, the promotion to develop Lava Hot S srings into a National Health Center for the treatment of infantile paralysis continued to gather prestige, pres-tige, the latest being the unanimous unani-mous endorsement of the Etistern Idaho Chamber of Commerce, meeting meet-ing jointly witli the Associated Ci.ic chilis of1 Southeastern Idaho at Pocatello on Monday of this week. But the promotion went further than an endorsement at the session, for the machinery was setup to handle the promotion through an extensive drive in all counties in the state to tie-in with the interstate inter-state committee already established establish-ed among Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming,- and Montana. Further impetus was given the program this week when Mrs. John Hayes of Twin. P f . Idaho, chair-. man of the Ii -Ie Paralysis foundation, called for the aclhe support of all Idaho chapters In turning the -county's share of the paralysis funds; both for this year end accumulated sums from past years to the development of Lava j Hot Springs. Mrs. Hayes is taking , an active interest in the drive and j s:he will take charge of this par- ! ticular part of the campaign. Ben Johnson, president of the Associated; Civic Clubs, has scheduled sched-uled a meeting of the inter-state committee for the near future, a session that is bound to have tar-leaching tar-leaching effects toward the establishment es-tablishment of the health center j at Lava. They In- elude a bill to be l '.'rented before the Idaho legislature asking for j an appropriation for a hospital at Lava, a request being placed before the National Infantile Paralysis J Foundation for additional financial I support, and a report from the Lava Hot Springs Board which agrees to ! turn over to the inter-state founda- ' tion, facilities for a fifty bed hos- 1 ital and the municipal spa, which represents an outlay of about $100,- i 000. . - Individual contributions from surrounding sur-rounding slates as well as Idaho is also swelling the working capital of the organization. o o |
