Show LINGERING ILLNESS TAKES ETTA - CVENS ' ' Mrs. Etta Nelson Owens, 64, widow wid-ow of William Owens, died at her home in, Preston Monday following an illness of several months. Mrs. Owens was born May 8, 1877, in Grantsville, Utah, a daughter of Anders and Beata Thorson Nelson. They were married mar-ried April 21, 1897, in Logan LDS temple. Shortly after their marriage mar-riage the couple moved to Fair-view, Fair-view, Idaho, and in 1910 they moved mov-ed to Preston. Mr. Owens died 24 years ago. Mrs. Owens had devoted consid-f consid-f erable time to home nursing ser vice. She was a member of the first Relief society presidency in Preston Sixth LDS ward and continued con-tinued in active Relief Society service ser-vice after her release. Surviving are three sons and rour daughters: Mrs. Serena Snyder, Mrs. Bernice Parkinson, Morgan and Richard Owens of Preston; Mrs. Gladys Merrill of Weston, Mrs. Wanda Cole of Whitney and Charles Owens of Swan Lake; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and three brothers and four sisters; Antone Nelson of Irwin, Ir-win, Gustave Nelson of Oakley, Charles Albert Nelson, Mrs. Annie Simmons and Mrs. Mary Lees of Salt Lake City, Utah.; Mrs. Josephine Jose-phine Bates of Calos, Utah, and Mrs. Julia Shaffer of Preston. Funeral services were held on Wednesday at 1 p. m. in Preston Sixth' LDS ward chapel. Burial in Fairview cemetery was directed by Hendricks mortuary. o o |
