Show Best Part Of Duck Hunt Still To Come In the hunting circles language of Franklin county ducksmen, "the best part of the duck hunting season sea-son around here is not until the times about up" regular season October 16 to December 14 and it's getting closer to December. Which means better sTioo'ting locally-Good news tosJFranklin county hunters who prefer to kill ducks -without, wandering off too far is word that Gray's lake is beginning to freeze over. Ex-warden Elmer S. Merrill says as soon as the first cold snap comes up north then the fowl begin be-gin to fly to Cache valley to the reservoirs and streams in this community. Official report has been made by District Conservationist John J. Delo of Soda Springs in these words: "Duck and goose hunting in this area is fair to good, with a good supply of both still on and around Gray's lake and the Blackfoot reservoir res-ervoir and local streams. Gray's lake is beginning to freeze over at the present writing, but Blackfoot reservoir is still open and harboring harbor-ing lots of ducks of several species, spe-cies, lots of Canadian geese, a few flocks of snow geese and a Tew swan." Official sunrise time on November Novem-ber 20 will be 7:29 a. m., signal for shooting in Franklin and surrounding surround-ing counties. |
