Show Officers Nab Armed Man Immediate action on the part of State Patrolman Harry Dab-ling Dab-ling and county officers was responsible Monday night for the capture of Billy Thoreson of Portneuf, armed parollee from the rison at Boise. j A call from Pocatello officers stating that Thoreson had eluded elud-ed them and was headed south towards the Utah line brought the local authorities into action. ac-tion. Sheriff Lee Hansen and Deputy Marlow Funk covered the road on the west side of the county and Patrolman Dab-ling Dab-ling wPth Conservation Officer Ted Biledeau headed north on Highway 91. Meeting the Thoreson car near EcTs Service station at Winder, Officer Dabling gave -chase for a half mile before forcing the car to a halt. Nellie Thoreson, mother of the ex-convict ex-convict tried to convince officers offi-cers that they were en rcuie to visit friends. Thoreson had served time at Boise for car theft and was paroled a month ago. He and a companion, Lamar Butler of Inkom had stolen a car at Boise and driven to Pocatello. They abandoned the car in the canyon can-yon above the Portneuf checking check-ing station and had gone to tht Thoreson home. Thoreson was returned immediately im-mediately to the state officers at Pocatello who had by that time apprehended his companion, com-panion, Butler. |
