Show COUNTY THIRD IN MAGPIE CAMPAIGN Boise The Idaho Fish and Game Department paid bounties on HU.SUo magpie heads during the three and one-half month campaign j conducted this spring for eradica-' eradica-' uon of the predators in coopera-I coopera-I tion with sportsmen and civic org-! org-! amzations in 2S counties, Director en V. I $3,136.12 at the rate of two cents per head, was paid from the Game Department's predatory. animal fund. During the magpie killing campaign cam-paign last year, bounty was paid on 55.G75 heads. This year's campaign Degan March 15 and closed June 30. Before any claims were paid, the association participation filed sworn affidavits certifying the number of heads on which they had paid the bounty. Receipts for the payments were attached to ! the affidavits. In an effort to encourage young 1 .people of the State to trap magpies, the Game epartment has prepared a pamphlet outlining various methods meth-ods of killing the birds and plans for constructing traps.
