| Show L 1 edar dar Cit City's s B Big Fair Opens ens T Today Three Big Days Of Interest For County People People I With edu education and a desire to 1 show citizens of Iron County what hat is being produced In the county as the principal motive the Cedar City Community Fair opens this morning I with a promise of being the most successful successful successful suc suc- suc- suc ever staged In the county In Interest In- In Interest terest in the Fair has been high for l lir the past two ir weeks and many visitors from surrounding communities are expected in Cedar during the next three days to attend the celebration m Displays of farm and garden produce pro pro- duce manufactured articles handwork handiwork hand handi work of the women omen folks such as prepared prepared prepared pre pre- pared food and clothing work of the 4 H 4 H Clubs Boy Scouts and of ot the g schools mineral displays work of ot the Forest Service of ot the Fish and Game club and many others are ready for tor inspection at the new Kopps Kopp's garage building on Center street while the 1 daughters of Utah Pioneers has a t display of Pioneer relics and historical cal records at the Thorley building M on Main street which should be of especial Interest to hundreds of tors Both display places will wUl be open at all hours of ot the day during the Fair period Thursday Friday and Saturday Saturday Satur Satur- day that everyone might have an op opportunity opportunity op- op of viewing the varied exhibits ex ex- ex hibits Plenty of ot entertainment has been arranged for tor the three day period with baseball games horse races boxIng boxing box box- ing programs and dances Each morning a baseball game will be staged stag stag- ed at the Junior High school grounds and a program of races has been arranged ar arranged arranged ar- ar ranged for tor each afternoon with boxIng box box- ing and dancing each evening Much Interest is being shown in is the race meet which will wUl be held at the the American Lesion rod rodn n ermin nun a All of the stables at the track have been full tull for tor th the past week with horses from Cedar Parowan Kanana Harmony and other places and approximately ap ap- ap proximately fifty horses are expected to be entered during the three days representing practically every town in southern Utah Many fine horses have ha t been developed and every race is expected ex expected expected ex- ex to have a large entry list of ot horses evenly matched which promises prom prom- bes programs of ot most interesting and thrilling races A special feature of the race meet Friday afternoon will be a free tree elk barbecue to be served during the racIng rac rac- ing program The elk have been killed and everything is in readiness for tor this big feed teed The fine cooperation of ot the Cedar City Fish and Game Protective Association has made this feature possible pos pos- possible sible and the officers and members of the association are doing eve eve y thing thing- possible to make It a success An e exhibit of Beef and Dairy cattle and Fat Lambs will also be on display at the race track showing the best stock of ot the county People may enter enter en en- ter the grounds to view these exhibits free tree during the mornings of ot each or ot they may visit them while they attend the races in the afternoons I J Admission charges to the races will wUl j be for tor adults and for tor children f with an admission charge of ot to the grand stand Admission to the boxing boxing- bouts will be the usual price of for far ringside seats general admission slop sion for tor children and ladies ladles half- half price The usual dance admissions will be charged It is hoped that the Fair will revive interest in the industries of ot the county farming and stock raisin raising and show to the people just what 13 is being accomplished in their own vl- vl as well as result in a pleasant celebration by the people after a farming farm tarm- ing season that has been the most successful of the past several years |
